Arsenal needs to rectify this Hector Bellerin situation sooner rather than later.
The Spain international returned to London Colney this summer after enjoying a season-long loan at Real Betis last term.
Despite having no future at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta, moving on the right-back – who earns £110,000 per week – is proving quite troublesome.
Earlier in August, it was reported that his agents were flying into North London to discuss the prospect of the player having his contract terminated at the Emirates Stadium.
Interestingly, it was then reported that he had been offered to Barcelona.
However, ABC in Spain has revealed that despite the Camp Nou speculation, Bellerin’s top priority is to re-sign for Betis on a permanent basis this summer.
The report has also added that the player has ‘put his services on the table’ and offered himself to Atletico Madrid now, too.
If you’re Arsenal and Bellerin, you’d want this situation concluded as soon as possible.
It’s obvious that the 27-year-old has his heart set on a transfer away from the Premier League side, and that the Gunners have absolutely no intention of using him.
For his sake and the club’s, it makes complete sense for a total severing of the ties but, considering how long it’s taking, clearly, it’s a more complex issue than previously believed.
