According to Mike McGrath and Jason Burt of The Telegraph, Manchester United has made Yannick Carrasco a “real” target as they increase their interest in the “outstanding” Belgian international. According to the source, the 28-year-old is high on Erik ten Hag’s list of potential acquisitions, with the Red Devils mulling a “cheap” £25 million bid for his services.

Frenkie de Jong has been patiently pursued all summer, but his arrival at Old Trafford is not looking likely and with Adrien Rabiot’s wage demands stalling that deal, it has been a horrendous few weeks on and off the pitch for the red half of Manchester. Following the lack of progress on those two deals, reports suggest United have shifted their focus to Real Madrid‘s Casemiro, with the Red Devils now also looking to bolster their attacking pool by targeting Carrasco.
After the 4‐0 loss away to Brentford, Ten Hag reiterated his desire for new signings when he told Sky Sports: “I think we need new players. We need quality players and we are working on that. We will do everything we can to bring them in.”
Despite being a wide player who is adept on either wing, Carrasco is much more than a conventional winger. He is at his best with the ball at his feet, where he can use his close control and pace to get past defenders. He is unpredictable, which makes him difficult to read for opposition players
His unpredictability is what makes him so fascinating to watch. During the 2021-22 La Liga season, the Belgian forward appeared 44 times in all competitions for Atletico Madrid, scoring six goals and contributing seven assists. Carrasco is also a threat in dead ball situations, as he has demonstrated throughout his career.
He has matured tremendously during his time in Madrid and will provide some excitement to a Manchester United club that is currently lacking in creativity and confidence./
