Callum Hudson-Odoi is said to have told Chelsea that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with a number of clubs interested in him.
Last season, the 21-year-old started just 11 Premier League games due to an Achilles injury that kept him out of action until the beginning of March.
However, despite being fit and available, he was not even named to the squad for Chelsea’s opening day away at Everton on Saturday, implying that he is not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
According to Sky Sports, Hudson-Odoi has asked to leave the Blues in search of regular first-team football and his representatives have been given permission to negotiate a move.
The report adds that European heavyweights Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have shown an interest in taking the winger on loan, along with two Premier League clubs.
Those could be Southampton and Leicester, who have been named by Fabrizio Romano as teams who have also shortlisted Hudson-Odoi.
‘I want to be playing as much as possible,’ the 21-year-old told Chelsea‘s official website last month. ‘Regular football brings out the consistency so I want to just keep playing and playing as much as I can.’
Hudson-Odoi has also previously been targeted by German champions Bayern Munich in 2019, but the move failed to materialize.
Ever since making his first-team debut for Chelsea in January 2018, the winger has found it difficult to establish himself as a regular in the starting XI.
Despite having three caps for England, Hudson-Odoi has hinted at switching to Ghana ahead of this year’s World Cup.
With the tournament only three months away, he appears to want to get out on the pitch and prove himself, which could lead to a spot in Qatar.
Tuchel started Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, with Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech coming off the bench ahead of Hudson-Odoi.
Marcos Alonso was also left out of the squad as he attempts to complete a move to Barcelona.
