If Ronaldo agrees to the move, he will receive an eye-watering salary in the region of £105 million per year, meaning he will rack up £210 million over two seasons in Saudi.
The package offered by the mega-rich club also includes £20 million in agent fees.
Ronaldo shocked United to the core earlier in the month after asking the club to let him leave if a satisfactory offer was to come in for him.
Since his transfer request, he has missed the club’s pre-season training in Manchester due to ‘personal/family reasons, and he also did not travel for the club’s pre-season tour of Thailand.
However, despite Ronaldo’s wish to seek a move away, United is reluctant to sell. New boss Erik ten Hag said during a press conference in Bangkok that the Portuguese remain in his plans for the upcoming season.
The Dutchman said: “We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that’s it and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
“I have read but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together. I spoke with him before this issue came up, I had a conversation with him and I had a good talk.”
“That is between Cristiano and me, what I can confirm is we had a really good conversation together. What I said before, once again, I had a really good talk together.”
Ronaldo ended the 21/22 season as the club’s top scorer with 24 goals, his tally of 18 goals in the Premier League was only bettered by joint Golden Boot winners Son Heung Min and Mohamed Salah. He also earned a place in the PFA Team of the Year.
