Manchester City has joined the race to sign Youssoufa Moukoko as the Sky Blues ‘set sights on beating Liverpool’ to his signature.
The Sky Blues have made a strong start to the 2022/2023 Premier League season, with Pep Guardiola’s team aiming to win the league for the third time in a row.
No Premier League team has scored more goals than City, with their only defeat coming at the hands of archrivals Liverpool at Anfield, where summer signing Erling Haaland has taken England by storm.
However, it has been reported that the Blues could still be in the market for fresh additions, with links emerging to the likes of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham among others.
According to Football Insider, City have now ‘set sights on beating Liverpool’ to a new target as an update comes to light involving another Dortmund sensation.
It is believed club chiefs and the City recruitment team are eyeing a move for Moukoko as they join the race for his signature.
Guardiola’s side is now ‘targeting the forward’ who has earned rave reviews from their star striker Haaland in the past.
THE VERDICT: MAKE THE MOVE?
Moukoko, who has been described as an “amazing” talent by reporter Ed Aarons, has also received acclaim from Haaland in recent years, with the Norway international once dubbing him the “greatest talent in the world.”
The outstanding 17-year-old has struck four goals and assisted three others in 11 Bundesliga outings for Dortmund this season, for a total of seven-goal contributions (WhoScored).
According to the numbers, Haaland’s decision still sums up, so it’s no surprise City is interested.
