These compounds make bitter gourd an effective remedy and also a good preventive remedy against diabetes because those compounds are known to increase insulin secretion, helps the cell take up sugar molecules, reduce glucose absorption in the body and stimulate the liver and glycogen synthesis.
Bitter gourd as the name implies has a very bitter taste which many people find unpleasant, but still, you can enjoy the benefits of this ingredient by mixing it with other things like cucumber.
HOW TO MAKE BITTER GOURD JUICE WITH CUCUMBER
INGREDIENTS
2 large bitter gourds
1 cucumber
1 green apple
½ lemon
PROCEDURE
- Wash the bitter gourds and peel off their skin.
- Slit the bitter gourds and remove the contents inside.
- Now cut the bitter gourds into small pieces.
- Soak the gourds in water for 10 minutes.
- Wash the cucumber and peel it off.
- Cut the cucumber into small pieces.
- Cut the green apple into small pieces.
- Put all the ingredients in a juicer to extract the juice or you can grind it all and strain the juice.
- Add ½ of lemon juice.
- Drink this once daily on an empty stomach in order to control your sugar level.
