According to L’Équipe, Leicester is interested in signing Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, with the Premier League club prepared to make a substantial bid to bring him in this January following the Moroccan international’s impressive displays at the World Cup.
The 22-year-old has undergone a stratospheric rise, having played for third-tier Avranches as recently as 2021, and is now attracting interest from clubs across the continent, including Sevilla and Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo. According to L’Équipe’s sources, Leicester is willing to pay up to €45 million.
With Angers currently lying at rock bottom of Ligue 1, it appears unlikely that they would turn down a lucrative offer, with forward Sofiane Boufal also being looked at after his good performances with the Atlas Lions as well. The club management has yet to receive a concrete offer, but the bids are expected to come in imminently.
