Laporte is an important member of Manchester City‘s lineup, having started 33 of the team’s possible 38 Premier League games this season. This season, the Spaniard and Ruben Dias have formed a powerful connection that has helped Manchester City win the Premier League.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, via the Daily Mail, the 28-year-old might be on the move this summer, with Italian club Juventus apparently mulling a deal for Laporte. Laporte could be the ideal replacement for veteran Giorgio Chiellini, who has left the club.
Manchester City may be able to sell Laporte if he decides to leave because they have one of the greatest center-back pairs in the world in John Stones and Ruben Dias.
Modern managers, on the other hand, often prefer a left-footed defender at center-back, and neither Dias nor Stones suit that description.
According to the Daily Mail, Laporte joined the club for £58.5 million, and Juventus are unlikely to be able to match that price. Selling the Spaniard may not make financial sense because it weakens their squad and it would be tough to acquire a comparable player for a low price.
