Manchester City is reportedly stepping up its efforts to sign Brighton midfielder Marc Cucurella.
Cucurella has been a fantastic addition to the Seagulls, who have had a fantastic season under Graham Potter.
The Spaniard was named Brighton’s player of the season as the club finished ninth in the Premier League.
However, after only a year, he is being linked with a move away, with City apparently interested.
Pep Guardiola is said to be highly keen on making a move for his compatriot, and attempts are apparently being made in that direction.
According to the Sun, City are interested in signing Cucurella this summer and is willing to provide a player-plus-cash deal.
Manchester City is expected to offer England under-20 international James McAtee, who has previously been linked with Brighton.
Brighton reportedly wants £40 million for Cucurella, according to the Sun, and McAtee might help bring the price down.
