MANCHESTER UNITED is interested in signing Antony from Ajax.
According to rumors, Manchester United may make a new bid for Ajax winger Antony “within the next few hours.”
In recent days, the Brazilian has emerged as John Murtough and Erik ten Hag’s primary priority, and he has refused to train with the club after the Eredivisie champions rejected a £63.8million approach from Manchester United earlier this week.
The Red Devils have been linked to Antony throughout the summer, according to reports. The club, however, has been scared off by the Amsterdam club’s hefty asking price of roughly £80 million. United are said to have made two bids for the midfielder this summer, the most recent of which was rejected earlier this week.
The recent offer appears to have turned the wideman’s head as he refused to attend training on Friday and Saturday. He now looks set to sit out the Dutch champions match against Sparta Rotterdam today as a result of the amount of training he has missed.
However, the transfer saga could be slowly approaching a conclusion with GOAL reporting that Murtaugh could make a new offer for the Brazil international ‘in the next few hours. The proposal is likely to include a range of bonuses which may push the final spend closer to Ajax’s valuation should certain requirements be fulfilled.
