Manchester United is willing to pay €20 million to sign Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest during the summer transfer window, according to Spanish publication SPORT. Only two years after joining the Catalan club from Ajax, the USMNT international could be on his way out.
Barcelona is reportedly ready to listen to offers for Dest, who is now attracting interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils’ manager Erik ten Hag managed the USMNT international during their time together at Ajax and is interested to get him on board at Old Trafford.
Since joining Barcelona in 2020 from Dutch giants Ajax, the 21-year-old has made 72 appearances for the Blaugrana across all competitions. Dest has also scored three goals and provided four assists and seems to have a bright future ahead of him.
But the Catalan giants have been linked with a move for Chelsea right-back Cesar Azpiliceuta, and if they do manage to get the Spaniard on board, Dest will fall down the pecking order. Moreover, Barcelona also needs to offload a few players to balance their wage bill, and the young right-back could face the brunt of it amid interest from Manchester United.
