Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be fined £1 million as a result of his interview with Piers Morgan.
On Sunday, Ronaldo met with a journalist and confessed his actual sentiments for Manchester United. The attacker lashed out at boss Erik ten Hag and the lack of desire at Old Trafford in an angry interview.
The 37-year-old was ruled out of United’s triumph against Fulham due to sickness, but new details have emerged suggesting that Ronaldo was told he wouldn’t be starting but would still be in the team.
He then reportedly told the club that he was ill and would not be available for selection.
The Portugal international has been desperate to leave the club since they failed to qualify for the Champions League last season and was fined two weeks’ wages after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham in October before walking down the tunnel early.
United have refused to comment on the interview however Metro are reporting that they have been less than impressed with Ronaldo’s actions and are set to punish him with a £1m fine.

Morgan appeared on TalkSPORT to explain the interview on Monday and revealed that it was Ronaldo who had approached him.
He stated: “Cristiano requested that I do it. It’s as simple as that. He asked me, not me asking him. He’s been thinking about it for a long, and it’s no secret that he’s been fed up with what’s been going on at United.
“He feels compelled to speak up; he knows it will be divisive and cause upheaval, but he also feels obligated to do so. He is aware that people would criticize him, but he is also aware that what he is saying is correct.
“Sometimes the truth hurts. He’s been thinking about this for a while and I got a call. The World Cup is about to start, it gives him a month away from United and it gives him time for what he has said to settle in. He can come back and resolve things.”
