Manchester United has not had a pleasant transfer window thus far, but with the signings of Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, things are starting to look up for the Red Devils.
In preparation for his first season in the Premier League, new manager Erik ten Hag will continue to bolster his team.
United have contacted Bayern Munich regarding a potential move for £31m Frenchman Benjamin Pavard, according to L’Equipe.
It seems Aaron Wan-Bissaka could leave this summer, meaning only Diogo Dalot would be left for the Red Devils in the right-back position.
Pavard would add some experience and quality to the United back-line and it’s believed a fee of €35m would be enough to secure his services – by no means a fortune, in this day and age.
The summer has been dominated by United’s pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and Ten Hag is still thought to be hopeful the signing will eventually be completed.
With only a couple of weeks till the Premier League begins again, here are the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumors:
While the Athletic reported United and Barcelona had reached an agreement of £73m for De Jong, it seems the Dutchman is reluctant to make the switch to England.
United ‘target’ moves elsewhere
Red Devils linked ace Brian Brobbey has signed for Ajax, meaning another player eyed by Ten Hag has opted to move elsewhere.
Brobbey had previously been managed by Ten Hag during his first stint at Ajax, but left for RB Leipzig last season and failed to make an impact in Germany.
The Times previously reported the United boss had made contact with the player’s representatives earlier this month, but the deal never came to fruition.
