Manchester United‘s pursuit of an attacker continues, with PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo being closely linked.
According to The Telegraph, Ajax is playing hardball with the Red Devils over Antony’s transfer, so Ten Hag is now attempting to entice the PSV Eindhoven attacker.
The renowned news source has mentioned that Man Utd will submit an offer and is expected to complete his signing as negotiations are not going to be any problem.
The British outlet claims the Dutch giants are looking for a fee of £38.2million but United expects to secure the signing for £34million.
However, reports from the Netherlands are quoting a completely different asking price.
According to Eindhovens Dagblad, keeping in view that Ajax has rejected a mammoth bid worth 80 million euros for Antony, PSV would only allow Gakpo to leave for the right fee.
The Dutch source claims the Eredivisie side wants a fixed payment of around 45-50 million euros and after including add-ons, the deal should be worth 60 million euros (£51million).
Gakpo had a double-double in terms of goals and assists last season and has started the current season strong as well.
In the Johan Cruyff Shield, he scored a goal and assisted on two others to help his team defeat Ajax (5-3). Furthermore, in the league, he has personally contributed three goals in two outings.
The 23-year-old, who primarily plays on the left wing, has already earned 7 caps for the senior national team, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
