One of the best wingers in football is widely recognized as being Neymar. The Brazilian is no stranger to a significant transfer move after joining PSG in 2017 for a record amount. Now that Neymar reportedly wants to leave Barcelona, a summer transfer could be in the works.
Neymar is reportedly pondering leaving the Ligue 1 winners, per RMC Sport. He is reportedly dissatisfied with how the club has handled him.
Nasser Al Khelaifi, the president of my PSG, is quoted in the report. He declined to say whether Neymar would remain with the team for the upcoming season in an interview.
He continued by saying that whoever stays on the team would be expected to do significantly better than they did the previous year.
Neymar‘s exit this summer, he speculated? I can tell you that we expect all players to perform significantly better than they did last year. Much more!
“They must all give their all. We were obviously not good enough to advance very far. The goal is to give every day of the upcoming season 200 percent effort. To devote everything we have to this shirt, to give our all, and to see what happens.
“You need to regain your humility. To prevent injuries, bans, and fouls that alter a game, you must adapt.
Following this information, several Premier League clubs have been mentioned in connection with a move once more.
According to reports, only Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle could afford his services.
He is still among the highest-paid football players in the world, though. But a big transfer fee combined with the salary might be too much for any club.
PSG will be looking for a return on its investment after spending £198 million on its services in 2017.
The club would lower his asking price if the 30-year-old winger was genuine about leaving.
Juventus reportedly had an interest as well. However, it’s thought that the Italian heavyweights withdrew from the competition due to his wage demands.
Given their recent acquisition from American billionaire Neymar, Chelsea may be the most likely candidate. Neymar would be eliminated, though, by the prospective acquisitions of Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele.
Nevertheless, it appears that Neymar transfer rumors will continue after Al Khelaifi’s remarks.
