Marcus Rashford has been told to LEAVE Manchester United amid rumours of a move to PSG or risk stagnating at Old Trafford like Red Devils teammates Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw.
Marcus Rashford has been told to leave Manchester United amid reports of interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The French champions are reportedly interested in signing the Red Devils and England forward but have yet to make a formal approach.
In an already highly eventful transfer window, Rashford leaving behind the club he’s been with since he was seven years old would arguably be the most shocking of the lot.
But former pro-Anton Ferdinand believes Rashford should depart Old Trafford for the sake of his career and his life off the pitch.
“I’m going to look at it from a player’s point of view. It’s time for a fresh start. It’s time for new ideas in terms of new surroundings,” Ferdinand told talkSPORT.
“It’s been suggested he’s a fan favourite. A fan favourite doesn’t get booed the way he gets booed at times.
“I think, especially for him who’s from Manchester and plays for his boyhood club, to get booed by your own fans but be a fan favourite… I think it’s time to go.
“It’s time for him to go to another club, live another lifestyle and play with some better players.”
And if Rashford decides to stay at Man United he runs the risk of letting his career stagnate like some of his teammates, according to Daily Mirror journalist Darren Lewis.
“I don’t think it’s a question of whether Man United should sell Rashford, it’s whether Rashford should stay at a club that is stagnating and sucking everyone down with them,” Lewis told talkSPORT.
“I look at Jadon Sancho as an example and the outstanding form he showed at Dortmund, the electrifying impact he had and Man United have sucked all of the creativity out of him.
“I look at the impact Luke Shaw has in an England shirt surrounded by better players in a team with a plan. I look at the player Raphael Varane was before he arrived at Manchester United.
“Manchester United is just sucking in so many players.” It’s insane to suggest that a 24-year-old player like Marcus Rashford is finished and has reached the end of his career right now.
“I bet you any money you’ll see him, should he take it, go to PSG and become the fantastic player we know he is.”
“Like when Romelu Lukaku went to Inter Milan and they used him in a way that brought out the best in him.”
