After the club confirmed their last pre-season friendly encounter of the summer, Erik ten Hag will take command of Manchester United for the first time at Old Trafford on Sunday, July 31.
The final match of United’s pre-season preparations for 2022 will be a friendly against Rayo Vallecano of La Liga.
The game, which begins at 4 p.m., comes a week before the start of the new Premier League season.
“Pre-season is all about preparation,” football director John Murtough said via ManUtd.com. “It’s a great opportunity for those squad members who may not have played in some of our earlier Tour and pre-season matches to get valuable minutes on the pitch – and where better to do that than Old Trafford?”
“This will be the new manager’s first game at Old Trafford, and I am confident that the fans will give him a warm welcome.”
Members and season ticket holders pay £5 for tickets.
Last season, Rayo Vallecano finished 12th in La Liga, and they presently have two former United players on their roster. Radamel Falcao is anticipated to stay at the club this summer, giving United fans another opportunity to see Bebe, who joined the club in 2010 before leaving for Benfica in 2014.
United’s pre-season begins in Bangkok with a match versus Liverpool.
The team will then go to Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa in Australia.
