Manchester United quickly submit offer as £17m versatile player asks to leave Barcelona

Manchester United‘s defense has been a total mess, despite spending a lot of money to sign two defenders this summer.

They were destroyed by Brentford 4-0 yesterday after losing to Brighton at Old Trafford in the Premier League opener.

If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils have moved in with an offer to hire the services of Sergiño Dest from Barcelona.

As per today’s version of Sport, the 21-year-old right-back has received a clear message from Barca and Xavi to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

In the opening La Liga fixture, the Catalan giants did not select the USA international against Rayo Vallecano and the defender is clear that he is not part of the manager’s plan.

In such a scenario, Barcelona is already negotiating to sell the youngster to Manchester United. The Old Trafford outfit has submitted a player plus cash offer to sign Dest.

To offload the American with 17 caps, Sport reports that the Blaugrana would prefer a full cash deal worth 20 million euros (£17 million).

Dest achieved fame while playing for Ajax under Erik ten Hag, the current manager of Manchester United. The right-back has many strengths, and the Dutch coach can use him to bolster the defense.
