Bayern Munich will face Inter Milan at San Siro on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League, looking to collect as many points as possible on the road. The German giants were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw away at Union Berlin and will be eager to get back on track against the Italian outfit in midweek.
Julian Nagelsmann will probably set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a couple of tweaks to his starting XI for this game. Both Leon Goretzka and Thomas Muller might get a chance to impress from the start in this European clash at Milan.
Manuel Neuer will continue to play in goal for the Bavarian club after shipping in one goal in his last appearance. Dayot Upamecano could continue to play alongside Matthijs de Ligt at the center of Bayern’s defense as they look to maintain a solid defensive shape at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
benjamin Pavard will be a nailed-on starter while Alphonso Davies hopes to put his pace to good use as the left-back. Nagelsmann will instruct both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Sven Ulreich will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Leon Goretzka will probably get an opportunity to catch the eye alongside Joshua Kimmich at the center of the park. Both Bayern midfielders would focus on dominating possession and engineer enough clear-cut chances for their teammates to win this game.
The gifted trio of Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller, and Kingsley Coman will operate just ahead of them as part of Nagelsmann’s attack. Both Sane and Coman would be asked to stretch the pitch out on the wide areas.
Marcel Sabitzer and Ryan Gravenberch will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to impress in the latter stages if Nagelsmann decides to call upon their services.
Sadio Mane will once again lead the charge for the German outfit up top. The Senegalese talent failed to register a goal versus Union Berlin. Hence, we can expect him to be hungry to find the back of the net in this midweek encounter at San Siro.
Serge Gnabry will have to be content with a place on the bench as he awaits his chance to shine in the second half if needed.
