The prospect of Liverpool signing Moises Caicedo, a Manchester United target, is increasing.
Earlier this week, 90 Min reported that the Anfield outfit was interested in bringing the Ecuador midfielder to Merseyside
However, with Manchester United also in the reckoning, a transfer to Liverpool is far from guaranteed.
But there’s been a positive development for the Reds over the past 12 hours.
According to Studio Futbol, the Brighton & Hove Albion sensation does not want to join Manchester United.
The report has added that the 20-year-old is set to become the subject of a £42 million offer by Liverpool in an intriguing development, to say the least.
If accurate, this will delight supporters of the Merseyside outfit.
That’s because, well, they desperately need another body in midfield.
With Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sidelined, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is short on numbers, and with Naby Keita also linked away, well let’s just say that Caicedo is very much needed.
In contrast, the Red Devils have just signed Casemiro from Real Madrid, an investment that lessens their need for Caicedo, you would imagine.
There are still less than two weeks left in the summer transfer window and although it doesn’t give Liverpool a massive amount of time to pull off another major investment, having already brought Darwin Nunez in for a club-record £85 million, it is enough.
