Since the completion of the 2021–22 Premier League season, when Erling Haaland transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City, the Brazil international has been extensively linked with a move to Arsenal.
As Mikel Arteta continues his quest to transform the Gunners into a top-four squad, Arsenal is looking to fill the voids left by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
The South American striker, who has eight goals and eight assists in Manchester City’s championship-winning campaign, is expected to cost the 13-time English champions £45 million, according to Romano.
Although the 25-year-old and the north London club have not yet agreed on personal terms, Romano claims that Arsenal will work to close a deal soon.
Romano, an Italian transfer analyst, explained the impending acquisition of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City to Arsenal on Twitter.
“Arsenal and Manchester City have secured full verbal agreement today for Gabriel Jesus,” Romano posted on Twitter. After a recent meeting, a deal was reached; the guaranteed fee is £45 million.
The last step to quickly complete the transaction is that Arsenal and Gabriel’s camp is currently negotiating personal terms.
