According to media reports, Nicolas Pepe‘s departure from Arsenal is gaining traction amid agency changes and the potential arrival of Leeds United winger Raphinah.
Pepe’s time at Arsenal has not gone as planned following his £72 million moves to the London-based club in 2019.
Since then, the Ivorian has struggled to make an impact and has been a shadow of the player who lit up the French Ligue 1 during his two-year stint with Lille.
In 79 appearances for Lille, Pepe scored 37 goals and assisted on 18 others. In 112 appearances for the English giants, the winger managed only 27 goals and 21 assists.
However, it has been reported that the links between Arsenal and Leeds United for the services of Raphinah are influencing Pepe’s reported departure from the club.
Pepe has also changed agents, according to Goal.com, in order to expedite his departure from Arsenal.
According to the same report, Arsenal is open to Pepe leaving the club; however, his reported weekly wage of £100,000 may prove to be a stumbling block in finding a suitor.
