Manchester United is apparently keeping tabs on Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae, who has impressed since joining in Italy in the summer.
According to recent reports, the Red Devils are one of several clubs interested in signing the 26-year-old, including rival Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur and Serie A heavyweights Juventus.
Carlo Garganese, speaking to GIVEMESPORT, has provided an update on United’s interest in the 46-cap jewel, adding that Erik ten Hag’s club may have a limited window next summer to exercise the center-release back’s clause.
“I know they’ve been scouting him,” he said. I’m aware of this; I blogged about it around a month or two ago. United scouts have been watching Kim Min-Jae, who joined Napoli this summer. But the crucial point with him is that he has a minimum fee release clause in his Napoli contract, which is only around €50 million (£43 million).
“It’s only valid for foreign clubs, but the key is that it’s only valid for two weeks. I’m not sure about the exact timing, but I think it’s at the start of July, or some point in July, though I’m assuming it’s at the start of July.”
Good pair for Martinez
This follows rumors that Ten Hag is eager to bolster his backline in the near future, with the Dutchman reportedly willing to let go of club captain Harry Maguire to make that happen.
The 29-year-old has made only three Premier League starts this season after losing his starting spot to summer signing Lisandro Martinez, who has forged a good partnership with Raphael Varane in recent months.
