One Liverpool midfielder could leave the club this summer on a free transfer.
Naby Keita of Liverpool has emerged as a January target for Newcastle and West Ham. Keita’s current contract at Anfield expires at the end of the summer, and with no contract renewal in sight, his time at the club could be coming to an end.
According to Milan Live, despite Premier League interest in the midfielder, AC Milan is the frontrunner for his signature. If Keita and the Reds are unable to reach an agreement, the Serie A club will be able to offer him a contract on January 1.
Keita joined Liverpool in 2018 for a £54million fee from RB Leipzig and has played over 100 times for Jurgen Klopp’s side. However, injury problems mean he is yet to feature this season and is likely to be out until after the break for the Qatar World Cup.
