Jurgen Klopp has been named Premier League Manager of the Season as well as LMA Manager of the Year for the 2021/22 season.
Despite Klopp’s lack of league victory, Liverpool had a fantastic season overall and were in with a chance of achieving an unprecedented quadruple until the final game of the Premier League season.
The Reds have already won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, defeating Chelsea on penalties in both competitions, and will face Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday, seeking revenge for their humiliation in the 2018 edition.
During the 2019/20 season, Klopp won the Premier League and LMA Manager of the Year trophies, ending the club’s 30-year wait for a top-flight title. His second victory comes against strong rival Pep Guardiola, who led City to their fourth Premier League title in five seasons following a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.
Liverpool finished the season with 92 points, 94 goals, and only two defeats – against West Ham in November and away at Leicester in the Reds’ last Premier League game of 2021.
