Ronaldo, the legendary Brazilian footballer, believes Kylian Mbappe is poised to control the world and become the finest player on the planet.
In addition, the former Real Madrid great stated that England “should be proud” of their World Cup effort in Qatar. Ronaldo spoke to Mirror Sport and explained why France forward Mbappe reminded him of himself during his heyday.
Mbappe now has the world at his feet as France is hotly tipped to win the World Cup, but it could also indicate a shift in who is regarded as the best player in the world.
Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal is already out, and Argentina’s Lionel Messi is desperate to round off his dazzling career with a World Cup victory, but Mbappe has a fantastic chance to win the title for the second time in a row.
“I can talk about how fast he is, how good he is, and he reminded me of when I played,” Ronaldo, one of the World Cup’s all-time greats after claiming the championship with Brazil in 2002, said. He understands how to maximize his talent, how to run faster than the other players, and use that speed to assist or score.
“I think France is the favorite team now to win the World Cup. I said that before the World Cup starts and, for me, Mbappe is going to be the best player at this World Cup.”
But Ronaldo was quick to claim that England was unlucky to lose against France in the quarter-final – but he insists they should not be ashamed. In fact, Ronaldo even compared England’s exit to Brazil who was knocked out by Croatia on penalties
Ronaldo said: “Don’t forget… England played very good football against France. I think the same happened to them as with Brazil. I think England played very well but, in the end, it was down to small details and they change the whole results of the match. But the English people should be proud of the World Cup they played and how they played in it.”
Ronaldo is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, and he insisted in Italian that the World Cup in Qatar was Bellissimo – beautiful – and the organization was “impeccable.”
However, it ended in heartache for Brazil’s star Neymar, who has vowed to quit the national team following the great loss of losing on penalties to Croatia. Ronaldo, on the other hand, believes Neymar will reconsider and may even play in the next World Cup.
“I think Neymar is really disappointed with the World Cup result for the Brazil national team,” Ronaldo continued. It’s natural for him to feel this way for the time being.
“But I am also sure that he will come back stronger and continue to play with the national team, he’s still young, 31 years old, and I think he can play the next World Cup.
“I am very happy that he showed a commitment for the last six months for the Brazil national team. He behaved
He looked after himself and played a very excellent performance, despite receiving a very strong tackle on his ankle in the first round.
“However, he made a significant sacrifice to return to the national team.” He played extremely well in the last games, and I believe he is very essential for us, so I hope he recovers quickly and returns stronger to the football world with PSG and the Brazil national team.”
