Thiago Alcantara will miss the Champions League final due to injury, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds won 3-1 at Anfield against Wolves to end their Premier League campaign, but Manchester City pipped them to the trophy on the final day.
Klopp’s attention now shifts to the upcoming match against Real Madrid in Paris on May 28, and the German coach is dealing with an injury dilemma.
Following a minor injury in recent weeks, Mo Salah came off the bench against Wolves, with Virgil van Dijk an unused substitute.
Both players are anticipated to be healthy for the match against Los Blancos, with Fabinho winning his personal fitness race. However, La Roja star Thiago was pulled out at halftime due to a thigh ailment.
“I assume he’ll miss the final, but I’m not sure.” According to the Daily Mirror, “he’s limping, which isn’t the best sign.”
“He doesn’t appear to be in excellent shape, but he attended the celebration with his family and can walk.” He’ll take a test on Monday.”
Fabinho, van Dijk, and Salah are all set to start against Real Madrid, with club captain Jordan Henderson then most likely replacement if Thiago is unable.
