Before the transfer window closes, Liverpool might finalize a deal to capture Matheus Nunes, who would be their third acquisition from Portugal this year.
If the Reds sign Nunes, they will have four Portuguese signings total, including Fabio Carvalho.
Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz already joined the club from the Primeira Liga, signing them from Benfica and Porto respectively.
The league has become known for its fantastic exports in recent years and Liverpool’s scouting has allowed them to continue the development of the squad.
Liverpool has a very exciting squad ahead of the restart of the Premier League.
Fans are excited about a front three of Nunez, Salah, and Diaz while Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho are set for thrilling roles on either side of the midfield giving Jurgen Klopp the potential for a front four.
Matheus Nunes has been heavily linked with the Reds recently and his addition would give Liverpool depth in midfield equal to the options he had in an attack last season before Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi left.
The midfielder could cost as much as €59M which is not an insurmountable fee for an outfit like Liverpool even if they have already spent considerably this summer to sign Nunez.
