The announcement of the date versus Red Bull Leipzig is followed by a new preseason matchup against Red Bull Salzburg.
Following the announcement that a date against Red Bull Salzburg had been added shortly after the announcement that Jürgen Klopp‘s team was preparing for a warm-up match against Red Bull Leipzig, Liverpool’s preseason schedule is beginning to approach completion. Strasbourg of France will also play them.
On Thursday, July 21st, at Red Bull Arena in Germany, the opening game will take place versus Leipzig. On Wednesday, July 27, they play Salzburg, who will likewise host the match at a venue called the Red Bull Arena, but this time it will be 400 kilometers away in Austria.

It has happened frequently enough in previous seasons for Liverpool to play back-to-back matches toward the conclusion of the preseason, but this year’s Community Shield match being one of those matches surely adds an unexpected twist.
