Neco Williams, a promising young player for Liverpool, is allegedly close to signing personal terms with Nottingham Forest.
Neco Williams, a full-back for Liverpool, might be one step closer to leaving Anfield this summer after agreeing to personal terms with recently promoted Premier League team Nottingham Forest, claims Football Insider.
The Tricky Trees defeated Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the Championship playoffs championship game to reclaim their place in the top division for the first time in this century. Even though a Premier League season is something to anticipate, Nottingham Forest will need to strengthen the team in the summer to remain competitive.
Right-back is one of the positions that require reinforcement. Djed Spence, a Middlesbrough loanee who was instrumental to the team last year, is now back at the Riverside Stadium. The newcomers to the Premier League will have to go elsewhere to fill the vacancy because Tottenham Hotspur is eager to sign him.
Williams, who demonstrated his value when on loan at Fulham last season, is one player who has been mentioned. The Liverpool defender, a full member of Wales’ national team, has played in the Premier League and has assisted Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield.
At age 21, he is not a starter and has little chance of replacing Alexander-Arnold in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup. A transfer to Nottingham Forest might provide Williams with the framework he needs to continue developing while also receiving consistent playing time. Although it is a goal of his to play for Liverpool, there is little to gain if he is forced to just watch from the sidelines.
